I have used the one on South 4th in Seattle and the prints were great. Initially, the colors and contrast were *way* off, but when I showed the guy at the counter what the problem was he reprinted them - perfectly - in a few minutes. The ones I was printing had large areas of black background, so their machine tried to compensate for an 'average scene' tonal range. He also told me that if I had anything where I had done all of the post-processing myself, just tell them to set "Color correction - OFF". The prints came out beautiful. So now, anything I have done through them I just remember to write the instructions to turn off color correction.
I have a set of Costco 8x10's hanging in a non-public area of the Seattle Aquarium now, and used a few 11x14's for a display at an orchid show last month. |
good advice man, never had anything printed yet, i'll keep that in mind. |
