My Camera: Nikon D300

MF and AF in LiveView mode

Liveview has been around forever on point and shoot cameras, I undestand the point of it, but I dont understand why its getting popular on DSLR's when it's manual focus only.

I was messing around with the new D90 and its the first camera camera by Nikon that will AF in LiveView mode. There are Nikons and Canons that have LiveView but they are all manual focus mode.

If a camera has the LiveView feature, is it possible to see an AF feature added through a firmware upgrade? Or is there something extra in the D90 that others dont have?

And a MF LiveView - the use is not practical for me. Does anyone else use it?
