mmmm.... I wouldn't use it yet, I'd use Adobe Lightroom.
If you really want to use PS, go buy a book. It's worth it. There are free tutorials online:
Adobe Photoshop Basics Free Online Class - Course Outline. Do a search for a lot more, but I'd go buy PS for dummies or something.
PS is AMAZINGLY complicated and the capabilites of the program are just enormous.
