Impulse Lens Purchases...

Posted 10-03-2008 at 06:51 PM by William
I'm rather impulsive with my spending habits. This impulsive spending led to the purchase of my first motorcycle at age 29, best impulse buy ever. I impulsive about the purchase of my DSLR too, buying a new Nikon D60 a few months back. I've since captured 1000's of images, mostly snap shots of family and friends, cars, bikes, flowers, etc. Maybe only a couple of dozen images that I really am proud of.

On impulse I bought a 50mm f/1.8 ( 2137 Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Standard Auto Focus Nikkor Lens - with 5 Year U.S.A. Warranty ) and have alot of fun with it. Now I want ( note want, not need) another lens. I don't know why, I don't use the lenses that I have now very well... I am absolutely obsessing about Nikon's 18mm-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR-II ( 2159 Nikon 18mm - 200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR-II Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom-Nikkor Lens with 5 Year U.S.A. Warranty )for no better reason than replacing two lenses that I don't use well with one single lens. I've been able to talk myslef down... for now. Maybe I'll sell my d60 and lens kit and buy a D300 with the lens I want... Damn my impulsesiveness!
