Taken last night. 50mm f1.8d AF lens. I thought about this assignment for a couple of days and thought of just taking a pic of the outside of my condo unit but then figured that's only where I lay my head. To me home is so much more. Not my home town but my current home. I own a business here, I'm involved in the music industry, pnwriders community, pnwdp community, volunteer work for the Vera Project and other non profs and this is where friends and family is. Seattle is my home. This shot was at 20 seconds at f22. ISO 200.

My flickr account is HERE

And then click on the pic and then above the pic in the upper left corner you will see "all sizes" with a magnifying glass. Click on that and it will default to the 1200x800 size that I uploaded. That's the size that I upload to flickr. I compress them for the web as the original is 15Mb. I don't have a pro account so I'm limited to 100 mb per month.

I guess i was subtley asking you to post a higher res photo for your submission since its a photography site. Its nice having a larger image to admire, dont cha think

I guess I don't understand what you mean by higher res. If I post up the largest image that flickr has then it looks way too big. But here it is.

Yeah, when I was on the bridge shooting there were about 10 other photogs there shooting the same thing. I've seen those types of shots in the past and have always wanted to learn how to do the long exposure shots. I had a blast taking them last night. I may go back tonight to shoot some more.

Ken: Looks like there was a little tripod movement during the exposure.
Was it windy? Were you on soft ground? Did you move away from the camera during the exposure? I've ruined a few long exposure shots by moving away from the camera. The ground was soft and it unfortunately picked up the small vibrations of my footsteps.

No wind. On concrete sidewalk. Didn't move a muscle when the shutter was open. The only vibration would have been from the cars going by on the street but I didn't feel anything. I used a wireless shutter release so I didn't even touch the camera. Must have been the cars?

the bridge that goes over i90 tends to shake when cars are going by. it's fun when a semi goes by on it.

nice shot ken. It's a little soft for two reasons. First, you're on a bridge. Pretty much all bridges shake, especially that one. Second, you shot at F/22, no lenses are sharp at F/22, you get refraction so it gets soft.
