you're just using an ir filter over the lens and not a converted camera, right? it's a lot easier to do if you have a dedicated camera to find out what does what. i ended up buying a converted p&s on ebay for fairly cheap to help me determine if i want to convert a more expensive camera with better resolution to ir work. the best part of it is not having to hold long exposures, and you get an immediate preview of what you're composing.

i'm totally infatuated with it, just don't have the funds/time to do what i want to do right now.

Yeah, I use a Hoya r72. The K10d has a serious IR block filter over the sensor, which makes for some insanely long exposures, even in backlit situations. I've gone as far as i can with IR on the cheap. I love it! I am close to shelling out around $400 for a converted D70, but i have bills to pay first. I also have a roll of IR film which i plan on shooting the next chance i get. It may be too late in the year to get the shots i want though.

It's funny though, most photographers dont like the infrared effect. I dont know why.

the color is so rich due to a 5 second exposure. kind of hard to do in flight but it seemed to work out.

Yes, that is what Hanson looks like now.

They came to Georgia Tech to lead a mile walk without shoes thing that raises poverty and aids awareness in Africa.

We had to make a run to Moses Lake yesterday. The wind was blowing about 50 or so I think. It's all I could do to stand still and take a picture, this is above the Columbia by George.

Very clean moon Jay.

Hey Dad, do you have a larger version of that? Pretty cool light, and not just from up north.

I don't think we're going there. Probably will stop by Patong beach one day but we're aren't staying there. I think we're going to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Koh Phangan.

Nice Tony, love shooting wildlife. Especially with my Bow
Question, is it over sharpened a bit? or is it another effect?
Maybe because evrything is soaking wet?

I love your processing xqsme, how much time do you spend on a picture like one of those? Would you mind showing the original?

Thanks JW. Sure I don't mind showing the original. It would usually take 5-15mins when I do some processing. I use bare PSCS3 with these photos.

Kirk,

I'm guessing that's from the rain, reflections on the wetness, and resizing down. In the full sized image it needs more sharpening. It was pouring pretty hard out.
I'm hoping to find him again before late buck opens up.
