it's pretty interesting that's for sure. no pics of penguins yet! or at least not real ones. it's funny you say that as I brought a stuffed penguin with me and have been taking pictures of her "journey to the motherland" the entire way. i'll have to post some.

i use a photoshop action i found that gives the photos that vintage "feel". the enhanced vignetting often is just increased during pp because i use primarily the 18-200mm lens which suffers from vignetting at wider focal lengths. i'm still studying the action sequence to see what exactly is all being done and so far it's mainly adjusting hue, curves and a little bit of saturation/contrast. i like to adjust the levels, both input and output as well. i'm thinking of adding it to the action but then every picture needs something a little bit different. the photoshop action though is a good foundation to start with.

Why would you ever EVER want to go to Antarctica? That's like somebody saying "GOD I want to go to Siberia"... seriously?

just some place i've always wanted to see. so much cool stuff goes on there nature-wise and it's about as untouched by humans as you can get.

my dad went down there, I'm very jealous. He got a ticket on a cruise for like 5k cause this person had to cancel last minute and sold his space.

Playing with exposures. Portland skyline.

Some photoshopping on this one to give it sort of a Lomo effect.

Mt Rainier on Saturday when the temps here topped out at 58. Not bad for the second weekend of January and the rest of the country is in a deep freeze.

Here's a series of shots from yesterday stitched together for one large pano... dang, it's getting tough to find winter scenes around here with this heat wave. I got home at 7 last night and the thermometer read 61.
