nice way to get the birds. you might've been better off without the backdrop, though. it's more distracting and is picking up more light than if it was just a blurry background of the gravel. |

with the black background, your foreground tends to get lost as the shadows blend into the dark. the difference in contrast without the backdrop brings out the silhouette and actually adds more detail to the image. reflections in the image are important to look at, too, since it takes on the characteristics of your background. you shouldn't have to be adjusting exposure much once you get the subject properly exposed. |
